Since I live in the South, near Jacksonville Florida, the landscapes are always unique. Southern landscapes are filled with grasslands and salt marsh vegetation with Intracoastal waterways and rivers that run throughout the city. My house in on an island peninsula hitting the Atlantic Ocean so I have the best of both ocean and salt marsh scenes. This 24×30″ painting celebrates the beauty of this serene painting and highlights the reflections of the moon on the Intracoastal.
“Moonlight Over Waterway”.
“Florida Eclipse” is a new southern landscape. Two 56×22 gallery wrap panels making this 56×45″ when hung. It is a mix of impressionistic stylings, bright colors next to muted colors and swirling brushstrokes give more interest.
Over the holidays, I painted this 30×48″ scene. I wanted to do an abstract painting originally but the more I worked on it, the more fantasy was added. After a few days, this emerged: a small landscape of the reflections on the water and the glow of the lights in the little house. It is called “Silent Night” and I hope the feeling it gives you is a positive one. The moon at the end of December was another inspiration that was incorporated.

As I have been still inspired by the beauty of the tropical island of St. Kitts for weeks, I went over a few of my photos and enhanced them to reflect the stunning colors. Some of these did not require a lot of enhancements and some I went a bit wild. I usually use Photoshop and a few additional filters to achieve the effects you see here. Also I do like to add borders on some. Printed on archival art papers makes for a stunning display. Enjoy!

Every full moon, a group of friends gather an hour before the moon rises to enjoy the sounds of the ocean tide, drink a cocktail and enjoy our friendships.I have lived at the beaches for 37 years and sometimes realize that I am not seeing enough of it.
