Mermaid finds a new home

I had a vision of what I wanted to paint when I started this 24×48″ mermaid painting. Sometimes, the process goes more smoothly than other times where I struggle and re-evaluate constantly. ” Finding a Black Pearl” was totally made up and poured out onto the canvas in a few days. Then the strangest thing happened…it was sold the first day I posted a photo of it, before the varnish was even dry. The collector fell in love and is waiting to installĀ  after framing in her home when her remodeling is complete.

I am so thankful and thrilled.

First Plunge for a Baby Sea Turtle

“First Plunge Baby VI” is a new 36″ square heavy gallery wrap, ready to hang. I am intrigued by how as soon as they hatch, the little sea turtles climb out of a mound of sand and instinctively make their way to the surf. Such brave little ones. I have been exploring making my brush strokes more impressionistic but deliberate.

A Painting as a gift

“Happy Dog” is a painting I created for some very good friends who are going thru a hard ordeal concerning their 6 year old boxer. Their “Honey” has been diagnosed with cancer and has had surgery and now possibly chemo. we are all so sad and concerned.

I have been working larger lately and hadn’t thought about my friend’s condo being quite small with very little wall space. The painting original is 40×30″ so I photographed it and had a 16×20 canvas giclee made for them as a gift. They were pleasantly surprised when I gave it to them this afternoon.
